Flavian Amphitheatre

Like its Roman counterpart, it is known as the Flavian Amphitheater or Amphitheatrum Flavium (Latin), presumably because it was constructed during the reign of the Flavian Dynasty (69 – 96 AD) and designed by the same architects responsible for the Colosseum. Some sources however attribute the amphitheater to Nero (Roman Emperor 54 to 68), dating its completion to sometime around 66 AD.

Catacombs of San Gennaro

The largest catacomb complex in southern Italy, the Catacombs of San Gennaro is an extensive network of tunnels, ambulatories, cubicles, and large chapels. Built on three underground levels (the lowest floor was recently discovered and is under study), this cavernous burial chamber was burrowed into the volcanic tuff rock of Capodimonte Hill in Naples Rione Sanità  district.

Il Ragù Napoletano, it’s the classic Neapolitan Sunday gravy- Il Ragù della Domenica. One of just a few Neapolitan meat sauces, it is as famous as Bolognese, but cooked low and slow, piano, piano like Neapolitan Genovese.
