Reopened in 2007 after having being closed for more than 20 years, Eduardo De Fillipo bought it in 1948 after it had been nearly completely destroyed by WWII air raids. Today, this 500 seat theatre is part of Teatro Stabile Napoli and is known as the “temple” of Neapolitan drama, specialising in classical and contemporary productions.

The theatre’s ticket office is only open during show times. Tickets can be purchased at the Teatro Mercadante ticket office at Piazza Municipio, Mon – Sat 1030 – 1300 and 1730 – 1930, Sunday 1030 – 1300 or through ticket outlets including BoxOffice and Concerteria, in person and online.
