Napoli Città  che sorprende
March 18th – April 2nd

Numerous events have been planned for the Easter and early spring season in anticipation of May’s Maggio dei Monumenti: oncerts, theatre performances, readings, etc.

In the News

  • A nationwide transportation strike has been set for  Friday March 18th. More info here...
  • 5 more dwellings open at Pompeii from 15 March. More info here…
  • The CILS exam has been scheduled for June 9th 2016. If you want to take exam, you must register 40 days before – by April 8th. Register for the exam with Centro Italiano.
  • Don’t forget – Saturday March 19th is Festa del Papà  here in Italy, Father’s Day and the Saint’s Day is of course San Giuseppe, Saint Joseph. Hugs to all the Dads out there and don’t forget to try some Zeppole di San Giuseppe.
  • March 19th is also Pino Daniele’s birthday. A (free) memorial concert will be held at the Palapartenope that night but there are no tickets left.
From the American International Women’s Club (AIWC) Naples:
“CASA RUTH – a safe haven and sartorial learning center in Caserta for women victims of slavery and forced prostitution – has been awarded the FAWCO Development Grant for 2016! As a member club of FAWCO (the Federation of American Women’s Clubs Overseas) AIWC Naples was allowed to submit a grant request that was voted upon by international FAWCO members. The women assisted by Casa Ruth are given legal documents, shelter and job skills to assimilate into society. Our club AIWC Naples has donated to Casa Ruth for several years now. We are happy that we are able to help these deserving women start a new life. Special thanks to Barbara, Nicole and Tricia for their work on the grant proposal!”

“This villa – pale, rich, and recently restored – sits in the lap of one of the most crowded cities in Europe.  It has the blue sea to its front, colour behind, and it’s wrapped in an exclusive coat of green.”

“A picture is worth a thousand words but, in this case, a picture is not enough. To get the full potential of this street art project organized by Inward you must walk around Parco Merola (Ponticelli), a disadvantaged area in the eastern outskirts of Naples.”
