Naples Taxi Per Tutti
The latest initiative from the Comune di Napoli, Taxi Per Tutti aims to make traveling around the center of the city by Naples Taxis more affordable.
Born from an idea of the Facebook Group Taxi in città tariffa max € 6 and approved by the Advisory Commission for Non-scheduled Public Transport, on February 16th, 2012 Comune di Napoli instituted low cost taxi rates to/from Centro Antico’s new Limited Traffic Zone (ZTL).
Using the new ZTL as a perimeter, two new tariff bands have been instituted for travel to/from Naples Historic Center, Centro Antico. Valid 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, fixed €6,00 and €8,00 rates ensure passengers affordable transportation around the city center.
The Zone 1 tariff is €6,00 and includes transportation to/from the Centro Antico ZTL and key locations including Foria, Municipio/Beverello, Piazza del Plebiscito (Taxi Rank at Via San Carlo), San Ferdinando, and the Central Station. The Zone 2 tariff is €8,00 and includes the Mergellina Hydrofoils, Centro Direzionale, Chiaia, and Gianturco.
Riders are responsible for requesting the fixed rate prior to commencing their journey. The driver will issue the rider a receipt with the exact amount of the tariff and the meter will not be turned on. All surcharges normally applied to a metered journey such as luggage supplements are included in the fixed rate.

Really glad to see this living in the ZTL! However, I didn’t see it before I gave the guy 10€ a couple of weeks ago. 6€ is way better than the R2 bus with luggage!

What a great piece of information that many of us would not have otherwise known about. Thanks for sharing! I know this would have come in handy for me quite a bit after I’ve stayed out so late the buses weren’t even running. I must ask you this (notes for my next visit): Is Pizzeria La Notizia out of range?
Hi Kathy – yes, this is great news especially for late nights and weekends. I plan on testing it out over the coming months at various times of the day and on nights and weekends. No – Pizzeria La Notizia isn’t out of range, just a bit off the beaten path and unfortunately not within the 6 or 8 euro cab range LOL. When are you coming back?
The airport website says there’s a fixed taxi rate to/from the airport, too, but doesn’t say what it is or where one might find such information… Any idea what that fixed rate might be?
Hi Jessica – at the bottom of the article you can download the brochure (or follow this link – http://www.napoliunplugged.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/TAXI_PER_TUTTI_eng_.pdf) which has the rates to/from the Airport to most major areas in the city. For example from the Airport to ZTL Centro Antico (Centro Storico) is 16,00 euro. These are fixed rates and you will need to let the driver know before hand.
