Well hello everyone!  A very warm welcome to the first ‘Have a Holly Jolly Naples Weekend’.

Each week I will give you my ideas of what to do at the weekend.

This weekend is a special one, in that it is Carnevale, so besides eating too much migliaccio, lasagna napoletanachiacchiere or Neapolitan doughnuts, maybe it would be good to get out and about!

This weekend is particularly child friendly, and seeing as most children have a longer weekend than normal, why not make the most of it?  At PAN on Saturday morning, there is Baby ROCK!, an event for children aged 4-12 as part of the ROCK! 4 event.  Children can have fun with art, music and English.

Another event for the little ones is the Carnival party at the Citta della Scienza on Sunday morning. There are a whole host of activities lined up for children to have fun and explore science.

For the adults, I recommend a visit to the Castel Dell’Ovo to see the exhibitions currently on display – ‘Scambio di Visioni’, a photography exhibition with photos of various Italian monuments, both little-known and famous, or ‘Scarti di Terra‘, an exhibition of photographs, designed to make us re-think the idea of “waste”.

Of course there are many more events currently on around Naples, details of which you can find on our events pages.

Last but not least, don’t forget the ‘Festival of the kiss’ – Cuore di Napoli.  Keep taking photos of what you think the ‘heart of Naples’ is, and post them to Instagram with the hashtag #cuoredinapoli.

Have tons of fun, stay dry, and I look forward to seeing photos of you all dressed up for Carnevale!
