Did you all have a lovely Easter?  I hope you didn’t eat too much chocolate!

If you’re wondering what to do on this second lovely long weekend, then look no further. There’s an awful lot going on this weekend.

For those of you who like markets and shopping, there is the Naples Antiques Market on the Lungomare, and the Campagna Amica Coldiretti farmers’ market at various locations throughout the city, both on Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th April.  If you’re looking for something on a bigger scale, why not try the second hand and exchange fair (Fiera del baratto e dell’usato) at the Mostra d’Oltremare.  This is an excellent chance to pick up some bargains, and help promote recycling through re-use.  The fair runs until Sunday 27th April.

If you’re looking for something a little more cultural, then why not try the London Royal Philharmonic Orchestra a the San Carlo Theatre – for one night only on Sunday 27th April.  You could also try Songs of Passion in the catacombs of San Gennaro, as part of the Lux in Tenebris 2014 series of events.  The Songs of Passion take place until Saturday 26th April, but the series of events runs until 2nd August 2014.

This weekend, you can also help promote Italian cultural heritage by taking part in FAI’s Youth Group‘s Digital Invasions at the Pio Monte della Misericordia and the Gaetano Filangieri Civic Museum on Sunday 27th April.  This event aims to promote these attractions by encouraging the public to take photos and videos and upload them to the Internet and social media.

The International Festival of Neapolitan Music of the XVIII Century, a celebration of music, food, guided tours and more, finishes on Saturday 26th April, so check it out while you have the chance.

If you’re more of a sporty person, then there is a very exciting event on Monday 28th April.  The world famous Harlem Globetrotters basketball team are coming to Avellino as part of their Italian Tour 2014.  Fans will have the chance to decide on new rules to be used in actual games!

Don’t forget, if you’ve got children, or even if you haven’t, why not head to Naples Science Center (Città della Scienza), for some eggy fun!  Even better, why not go by bike?  If you do, there are special activities to test your agility and skill.  The event runs until 4th May. Of course there are many more events currently on around Naples, details of which you can find on our events pages.
