Hello!

What great weather we’ve had! Long may it continue.  I managed to get very red at the Davis Cup tennis last weekend!  Did you watch it?  All of Napoli Unplugged went on Sunday, though loyalty was divided and unfortunately Great Britain lost, so now FORZA ITALIA! 😀

This weekend is a very “cultural” one.  A weekend filled with arts events, particularly music.

Tonight, Friday 11th April, as part of the series of Turchini concerts, the RossoPorpora Ensemble present ‘My Italy.  History and geography of the Italian madrigal at the Chiesa di Santa Caterina di Siena.

Tomorrow, Saturday 12th April, there is the monthly meeting of the American International Women’s Club (AIWC).  The club meets from 10:30-13:00 at the Christ Church Hall in Via San Pasquale.

Also on Saturday 12th, re-live the wonder years of the group Queen, with the Italian tribute band Queen of Bulsara at Teatro Cilea.

Sunday 13th is a very busy day! From 10:30-13:30 there is a Tableaux Vivants – 7 actors bring to life the works of Caravaggio. Also on Sunday morning, at 11:30 at the Villa Floridiana there is a concert, ‘The magic of Viennese operettas‘, with piano and soprano.  The ticket also includes an aperitivo and guided tour of the Duca di Martina Museum.  And if all that wasn’t enough, at 19:00 you can enjoy the Ensemble Discantus performing the Agony of Jesus Christ by Niccolò Jommelli.  The concert is part of the ‘In…Canto in Basilica!’ series of concerts being held at the Basilica of San Giovanni Maggiore.

Of course there are many more events currently on around Naples, details of which you can find on our events pages.

Have fun, enjoy your weekend and if the sun carries on, don’t forget the sun cream!
