Hey hey! Here I be!
Here are my suggestions for this weekend. Lots of fun to be had, as always!
If you like foreign films, then ‘12 Years a Slave‘, which is one of the CLA’s (Centro Linguistico di Ateneo) series of films in original language, is being shown on Tuesday 10th February at the Cinema Academy Astra.
If you speak Italian and are interested in origami, then on Friday 6th or Saturday 7th February you need to head to the Cartoleria F.lli Amodio for a free origami workshop by Origami Oh. The theme for this weekend will be Valentine’s Day.
As part of ‘Napoli and contemporary art: The Museums, the Foundations, the Galleries‘, on Saturday 7th February there will be a talk by Angela Tecce, with a visit to the ‘Rewind‘ exhibition, at Castel Sant’Elmo.
On Sunday 8th February at the Hippodrome Park of Agnano, as part of ‘Sunday at the Hippodrome‘, there will be large wooden games for all ages, walks with ponies and mask making from recycling, in preparation for carnevale.
MUSIC, DANCE & THEATRE
Tonight, Thursday 5th February, as part of the Alessandro Scarlatti Association 2014/15 Concert Season, there will be a concert by the Takács Quartet, in the auditorium of Castel Sant’Elmo.
As part of the series ‘Concerts at the Bourbon Tunnel‘, on Saturday 7th February there is a concert by the String Quartet of the San Carlo Theatre.
Also on Saturday 7th, there is a charity concert, ‘Campisi – De Vero’, a piano duo who play four-handed piano. The concert will raise money for the Lega del Filo d’Oro and will take place at Pio Monte della Misericordia.
Unfortunately most of the markets seem to be starting again from February, so keep checking back.
Saturday 7th February – Campagna Amica Coldiretti Market in Naples and Sorrento – You’ll find local products and healthy and affordable food with low environmental impact: fresh fruits and vegetables, wines, olive oil and vinegars, cheeses, honey, salumi, bread and bakery products, and plants and flowers.
Sunday 8th February – Campagna Amica Coldiretti Market in Naples, San Giorgio a Cremano and Sorrento – You’ll find local products and healthy and affordable food with low environmental impact: fresh fruits and vegetables, wines, olive oil and vinegars, cheeses, honey, salumi, bread and bakery products, and plants and flowers.
Every Sunday at the Hippodrome Park of Agnano, there is an antique, craft and flea market.
FINISHING THIS WEEKEND
Also finishing on Sunday 8th is the ‘Rewind. Art in Naples 1980-1990‘ exhibition, at Castel Sant’Elmo.
Of course there are more events currently on around Naples, details of which you can find on our events pages.
Enjoy whatever you do this weekend, stay dry, again, and come back next week for more fun things to do. 🙂
