I hope everyone’s well.  Got lots of lovely events for you this week, as always! 😉

First up is the Naples Antiques Market.  Happening Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th July, have fun browsing through all sorts of treasures, on the Lungomare.

Next are two concerts at the Reggia di Caserta (Royal Palace of Caserta).  Tonight, Thursday 17th July, there’s Alessandra Amoroso, with a concert to promote her ‘Amore Puro’ album.  Then on Friday 18th July, there’s Massimo Ranieri, with his ‘Sogno e son desto’ concert.

Moving on to theatre, I’ve chosen two events from the Summer Thrills festival at the Orto Botanico (Naples Botanical Gardens).  The first, tonight, Thursday 17th July, is ‘The Dance of Lovers‘, a play about a tiny village, which involves the audience.  The second one, on Friday 18th July, is ‘Day of the Dead‘, a play about a murder mystery.

Starting Friday 18th July is the Giffoni Film Festival.  Now in its 44th edition, there are a whole host of events organised, from film premieres to masterclasses.  This year Alan Rickman and Lea Michele will be making appearances.  There is also a Giffoni music festival during the same period, with the likes of Negramaro and Emis Killa and Rocco Hunt.

If you’re looking for a guided tour, then on Saturday 19th July there is a night time visit to the crater of the Solfatara. After you’ve been to the crater, you can enjoy fish cooked using the steam from the crater, and you can also try some local wine.

Perhaps you’d prefer a day time tour, well I can do that too! Guided tours of the Terme di Agnano are available on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th July.  Visit the Greek and Roman remains.  Booking is required for this weekend.

If exhibitions are your thing, then look no further! The ‘‘Mediterranean: mare nostrum’ photographs between land and sea exhibition of around 100 photographers’ photos of different aspects of the Mediterranean sea is on display until Monday 21st July at the Castel dell’Ovo.  There is also an exhibition, ‘The History of Jazz – 2o years of jazz in Campania‘, as part of the Pomigliano Jazz Festival, which runs on Friday 18th and Saturday 19th July.

This weekend is also your last chance to see the incredibly successful Andy Warhol ‘Storefronts’ exhibition at PAN.  The exhibition finishes on Monday 20th July.

Don’t forget the many festivals happening at the moment: Giffoni Film Festival, Summer at the Racecourse Park 2014, Ravello Festival 2014, Summer Thrills, Festival delle Ville Vesuviane 2014, Pomigliano Jazz Festival 2014,  Summer Live Tones 2014 and S.Elmo Estate Jazz Festival 2014.

Of course there are even more events currently on around Naples, details of which you can find on our events pages.

Have a great weekend and hopefully enjoy the sun! 🙂
