I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice-cream! …Any ideas what my favourite event this week might be?! 🙂
The Gelato Festival 2014 – that’s what I’m excited about! The chance to sample strange and unusual flavours, attend workshops and try some of the best ice-cream around. It started today and runs until Sunday 22nd June, along the Lungomare.
Sticking with food, but for those of you who prefer savoury, why not visit the Pizza Village in Torre del Greco. With entertainment for children, cookery shows and music, there is something for everyone! The event runs until Sunday 22nd June.
For a concert that’s a little bit different, The Swing Side of the Street might be your thing. A concert by ex-students of the music conservatoire, with a swing style, as part of the European Festival of Music. At the Canottieri Club of Naples on Saturday 21st June.
Continuing with the European Festival of Music, in celebration, the San Carlo theatre will play host to a series of concerts, with music ranging from Bohemian Rhapsody, to Mozart. From 16:30 onwards on Saturday 21st June.
If you’re heading to the Lungomare for the Gelato Festival, then look out for Danise on the road “That’s the Naples I want!”, a concert on the Lungomare (at the point of Castel dell’Ovo), with just a baby grand piano and no stage. A concert aimed at including the audience and building a better relationship with them.
If you’re interested in the ghostly and mysterious side of Naples, then The Palaces of the Spirits is for you. ‘The Palaces of the Spirits – Ghosts in Naples: tours between sacredness and esotericism’ is a series of: events, readings, screenings, performances, shows, exhibitions and guided tours involving ghosts and mysteries of Naples. The events are taking place at various locations across the city, from Monday 23rd to 30th June. For the full program, see the event.
From 18th to 22nd June, you can catch a beautiful ballet of Mozart’s Requiem at the San Carlo Theatre. Eifman, among the leading innovator of ballet dancing in Russia, translates the expression of the different Mozartian sensations of suffering, hope and love for humanity into a striking choreographic plasticity.
Of course there are even more events currently on around Naples, details of which you can find on our events pages.
Enjoy your weekend and more of the World Cup and….. FORZA INGHILTERRA! 😉 (Though next week it might have changed to FORZA ITALIA!!!)
