Tonight, Thursday 16th April, ‘Turner‘ is being shown in English,¬†with Italian subtitles,¬†at the Cinema Modernissimo, as part of their weekly series of movies in original language.

If you don’t fancy that, then on Tuesday 21st April, ‘Dallas Buyers Club‘ is being shown at the Cinema Academy Astra, as part of the CLA’s series of films in original language.

Fingers crossed that the beautiful weather continues, if so, why not take a guided tour around the Terme di Agnano.  GAN (Gruppo Archeologico Napoletano) are conducting guided tours of the ancient site on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th.

If you fancy doing something active, whilst also raising money for a good cause, then on Sunday 19th there’s the ‘Walk of Life 2015‘, an event organised by Telethon, with either a 10km competitive road race, or a non-competitive, fun 3km walk. ¬†Registration take place on Saturday 18th at the specially erected village in Piazza del Plebiscito.

Every Sunday, enjoy ‘Sundays at the Solfatara‘, a walk around a natural oasis, at the Solfatara.

If you’re looking for something a bit different this weekend, then why not try a Medieval style dinner¬†at the Taverna S. Maria de Domno in Salerno, on Sunday 19th April.


Tonight, Thursday 16th, the Alessandro Scarlatti Association 2014/15 Concert Season continues with Stephen Hough in concert at Castel Sant’Elmo.

Every Friday night, at the Casa d’Arte, there is a¬†date with¬†Teatro nel Piatto, an exciting blend of cabaret, singing and theatre of the absurd, seasoned with touches of Mediterranean cuisine, orchestrated by Pasquale Della Monaco, to raise money to help restore and re-open the Villa Ebe and its gardens to the public.

On Saturday 18th, J-Ax is in concert at the Palapartenope.

On Sunday 19th at the Museo Diocesano (Museum of the Naples Diocese), there is ‘Caravaggio at the Museo Diocesano – 21 Tableaux Vivants‘. ¬†An enactment of some of the masterpieces of Michelangelo Merisi.

On Sunday 19th, there’s a special ‘Family Concert‘ at the Duca di Martina Museum. ¬†Children will have the chance to meet and talk to leading musicians, and also look at their instruments up close, followed by a concert.

Sunday 19th also sees another concert in the Piet√† de’ Turchini series of concerts. ¬†This time it’s the turn of Maria Esther Guzman, at the Church of Santa Caterina da Siena.

Sunday 19th and Monday 20th see another of the shows in the series of theatre for children, ‘Teatro dei Piccoli’. ¬†This week it is ‘PetruŇ°ka‘, at the Teatro dei Piccoli at the Mostra d’Oltremare.

Giselle‘, at the¬†San Carlo Theatre,¬†finishes on Sunday 19th.


There are two big fairs this weekend at the Mostra d’Oltremare:

  • Fiera del baratto e dell’usato – Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th – a huge second-hand and exchange fair. ¬†A huge variety of items are typically available including second hand items, collectibles, books, household items, clothing, appliances, and much, much more.
  • Quattro zampe in fiera (Four paws at the fair) – Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th – two days of games, fun, information, entertainment, the latest news and more, all about our favourite four legged friends!

Every Sunday at the Hippodrome Park of Agnano, there is an antique, craft and flea market.

Every Sunday at the Fiera di Nocera Inferiore, there is the Salone Dell’Usato, a large, covered market, selling crafts, antiques, collectibles and modern antiques/art.


Starting on Saturday 18th, is ‘Opera Omnia del Maestro Antonio¬†Tammaro ‚Äú100 anni in arte‚ÄĚ’ exhibition at Castel dell’Ovo.


On Saturday 18th, the ‘Biennale del libro d’artista‘ exhibition ends at PAN.

Finishing on Monday 20th is ‘In the room‘ the first event of the new TrueArt artistic platform, at PAN.

Also ending on Monday is the ‘Tutt’Azmivt‘ exhibition at the Castel dell’Ovo.

Don’t forget, every Sunday at 10.30 there is a mass in English at the Christ Church in Naples.
