Tonight, Thursday 9th April, ‘Foxcatcher‘ is being shown in English, with Italian subtitles, at the Cinema Modernissimo, as part of their weekly series of movies in original language.

If you don’t fancy that, then on Tuesday 14th April, ‘Tango Libre‘ is being shown at the Cinema Academy Astra, as part of the CLA’s series of films in original language.

On Saturday 11th April, as part of ‘Napoli: Hills in Bloom‘, there are a host of events going on, to celebrate this hilly city.

The monthly AIWC meeting will take place on Saturday morning, at Christ Church.  The meeting is open to any English speaking ladies.  AIWC is a mostly social organisation that meets one morning a month but also does day trips, seminars, pizza nights, walking tours, winery visits, afternoon teas, and lots more.

Also on Saturday 11th, GAN (Gruppo Archelogico Napoletano) are looking for volunteers to help clean up the ancient Terme di Agnano.  They will be there in the morning, waiting for you, armed with gloves!

Every Sunday, enjoy ‘Sundays at the Solfatara‘, a walk around a natural oasis, at the Solfatara.

If you’re looking for something more sporty this weekend, then on Sunday 12th you can either go and watch Givova Napoli vs Pallacanestro Biella in their basketball match at the PalaBarbuto, or SSC Napoli vs Fiorentina in their football match at the San Paolo Stadium.


Tonight, Thursday 9th April, Eduardo De Crescenzo is in concert at the Palapartenope.

There are two concerts this weekend as part of the Pietà de’ Turchini Foundation series of concerts: Francesco Cera, playing harpsichord, on Friday 10th, at the Church of San Rocco a Chiaia; Carmen Becerra Jiménez, playing classical guitar, on Sunday 12th, at the Church of Santa Caterina da Siena.

The Pietro Condorelli Quintet will be in concert on Saturday 11th, at Domus Ars, as part of the Napoli Jazz Winter 2015 series of concerts.

On Sunday 12th April, Ljuba Bergamelli and Attilio Bergamelli will be in concert at the Villa Floridiana, as part of 2014-15 series of concerts.  After the concert, the audience will also have the chance to take a guided tour round the Duca di Martina Museum, lead by an art historian.

Also on Sunday, the Atos Trio will be in concert at Castel Sant’Elmo, as part of the Alessandro Scarlatti Association series of concerts.

Every Friday night, at the Casa d’Arte, there is a date with Teatro nel Piatto, an exciting blend of cabaret, singing and theatre of the absurd, seasoned with touches of Mediterranean cuisine, orchestrated by Pasquale Della Monaco, to raise money to help restore and re-open the Villa Ebe and its gardens to the public.

Giselle‘ will run from Tuesday 14th to Sunday 19th April, at the San Carlo Theatre.


On Saturday 11th and Sunday 12 April, the Campagna Amica Coldiretti market will be in Naples.  You’ll find local products and healthy and affordable food with low environmental impact.

From 7th March – 12th April, in the Decumani area of the Centro Storico, there will be the IV Easter Fair.  The workshops along Via San Gregorio Armeno will be open, there will be food tasting and folk music.

Every Sunday at the Hippodrome Park of Agnano, there is an antique, craft and flea market.

Every Sunday at the Fiera di Nocera Inferiore, there is the Salone Dell’Usato, a large, covered market, selling crafts, antiques, collectibles and modern antiques/art.


Starting on Saturday 11th April is the Milo Manara: ‘Le stanze del desiderio’ exhibition at PAN.  The exhibition is of works by Milo Manara, the legendary comic book creator, who is one of the patrons of this year’s COMICON, and to whom the festival is dedicated.


TheLa vita è un collage… 50 anni di arte e non solo’ (‘Life is a collage … 50 years of art and not just that’) exhibition ends on Sunday 12th, at Castel dell’Ovo.

Also finishing on Sunday 12th is the ‘Emozione Inca‘ exhibition at PAN.

Don’t forget, every Sunday at 10.30 there is a mass in English at the Christ Church in Naples.
