Here are my suggestions for this weekend’s fun-filled events!GENERAL EVENTS
Friday 11th is ‘La Notte della Tammorra 2015‘ – a festival of music and popular culture, created by the Neapolitan composer Charles Faiello and run by Il Canto Virgil – in Piedigrotta.
There is a meeting with Beppe Bigazzi, as part of at Istituto SS Addolorata of Torre del Greco on Saturday 12th.
‘Pompei, un’emozione notturna‘ started on 5th August, and runs until 20th September. The project has been created to appreciate one of the most extraordinary and most visited archaeological sites in the world, which is offering the public summer evening visits, light installations, artistic suggestions and cultural meetings, at the ruins of Pompeii.
As part of ‘In the footsteps of the Grand Tour‘, there are the following events: Every Sunday in May, June, July, September and October, for ‘The Campania of Wines‘, there are guided tours with dedicated transport to villages, castles, archaeological remains and museums combined with winery tours and wine tastings between art, history and traditions; Every Saturday from May to October, for ‘The Campania of Flavours‘, there are guided tours with dedicated transport in art places, villages and monuments combined with visits to producers to observe the production process, flavor workshops and tastings of typical products in order to discover and appreciate the Slow Food Presidia and products of excellence in Campania; Every Sunday in May, October and November, for ‘The Campania of Music‘, there are a series of events with guided tours to the notes of melodies that have enchanted and captivated the world, breaking down the barriers between classical and folk music. MUSIC, DANCE & THEATRE
On Sunday 13th, at the Museo Diocesano (Museum of the Naples Diocese), there is ‘Caravaggio at the Museo Diocesano – 23 Tableaux Vivants‘. 8 actors enact the masterpieces of the great Master Michelangelo Merisi.
Napoli Jazz Festival 2015 is here! On Friday 11th, Rosario Bonncaorso is in concert. The Luca Aquino Quartet – OverDoors will be performing on Saturday 12th. The morning of Sunday 13th, the Scannapieco Bros Quartet will be in concert, and in the afternoon the Antonio Farao’ Quartet will performing. All the concerts will be at the Convent of San Domenico Maggiore.
The Pomigliano Jazz Festival is in full swing now. There are events every night until 13th September: tonight, 10th, Enrico Pieranunzi and Gabriele Mirabassi are performing at the Villa di Augusto in Somma Vesuviana; Friday 11th, the As One Quintet will be at Parco delle Acque in Pomigliano d’Arco; Saturday 12th sees the Tullio De Piscopo Napoli Jazz Project in concert, also at the Parco delle Acque; Sunday 13th, Goran Bregovic & Wedding and Funeral Orchestra will be performing at the Roman Amphitheatre in Avella.
From 11th to 13th and then 18th to 20th September, the Festival of the Orient is coming to the Mostra d’Oltremare. Excitingly, in collaboration with the festival, on 12th and 19th September, there will be a traditional Holi Festival, a wonderful festival of colour and friendship, also at the Mostra d’Oltremare.
Every weekend there is the Campagna Amica Coldiretti Market at various locations in Naples and the surrounding area.
Every Sunday in the pedestrian area of Via Diaz, there is the Mercato del Contadino – a wonderful market of all the best local produce.
Every Sunday at the Hippodrome Park of Agnano, there is an antique, craft and flea market.
Every Sunday at the Fiera di Nocera Inferiore, there is the Salone Dell’Usato, a large, covered market, selling crafts, antiques, collectibles and modern antiques/art.

The ‘Napul’è‘ exhibition, also at the Castel dell’Ovo, also ends on 13th September.
The Pomigliano Jazz Festival 2015 runs until 13th September.
The Arena Modernissima, series of cinema under the stars, comes to an end on 13th September, at the Parco del Poggio.
