As part of the Concerts at Villa San Michele in Capri, from Wednesday 26th to Saturday 29th August, there is ‘Capri “Schermi d’Arte” 2015, Literature, art & cinema under the stars.

The 2015/16 Serie A football season is getting into full swing, with SSC Napoli vs. Sampdoria at the San Paolo Stadium on Sunday 30th.

Although not strictly this weekend, it is too exciting not to write about…. the Napoli Pizza Village 2015 starts on Tuesday 1st and runs until Sunday 6th September, along the Lungomare.  Napoli Pizza Village represents an opportunity for workers in the field to showcase their talents, but most of all for the general public to try some of the best pizzas in Naples, in one place, thanks to the presence of 49 of the most renowned Neapolitan pizzerias.

The Naples International Happy Hour returns after the summer on Wednesday 2nd September, at it’s usual location of Barril.  Meet new people and old friends from all over the world and brush up your English!! Need new business partners from all over the world? Bored of the same old crowd? Want to travel the world without leaving Naples?  Than be part of Naples International Happy Hour: An after work aperitivo with lots of drinks, food, fun and new friends.

Pompei, un’emozione notturna‘ started on 5th August, and runs until 20th September.  The project has been created to appreciate one of the most extraordinary and most visited archaeological sites in the world, which is offering the public summer evening visits, light installations, artistic suggestions and cultural meetings, at the ruins of Pompeii.

Every Sunday, enjoy ‘Sundays at the Solfatara‘, a walk around a natural oasis, at the Solfatara.

As part ofIn the footsteps of the Grand Tour, there are the following events: Every Sunday in May, June, July, September and October, for  ‘The Campania of Wines‘, there are guided tours with dedicated transport to villages, castles, archaeological remains and museums combined with winery tours and wine tastings between art, history and traditions;  Every Saturday from May to October, for ‘The Campania of Flavours‘, there are guided tours with dedicated transport in art places, villages and monuments combined with visits to producers to observe the production process, flavor workshops and tastings of typical products in order to discover and appreciate the Slow Food Presidia and products of excellence in Campania; Every Sunday in May, October and November, for ‘The Campania of Music‘, there are a series of events with guided tours to the notes of melodies that have enchanted and captivated the world, breaking down the barriers between classical and folk music. In melody, everything…  Starting on 28th June and running until 13th September, is ‘Campania by Night‘.  At nightfall the archaeological sites of HerculaneumPaestum, Minori and the nature of Vesuvius return to life beneath the stars.


The Piano & Jazz – Ischia 2015 Festival kicked off on 26th August and continues this weekend: Tonight, Thursday 27th, there is a concert by Paolo Fresu and Daniele Di Bonaventura, at the Castello Aragonese in Ischia.  On Friday 28th, there is a concert calledRitmo e Passione‘ at the Arena del Negombo in Ischia.  Saturday 29th sees Paolo Conte in concert, also at the Arena del Negombo.

Anastacia has returned to the music scene and will be performing at the Palapartenope on Friday 28th.

Saturday 29th is Michael Jackson Day!  A day dedicated to the music of Michael Jackson, at the Mostra d’Oltremare.

The Pomigliano Jazz Festival 2015 will begin on Saturday 29th, and will run until 13th September.  The Bobo Stenson Trio start things off on Saturday 29th with a concert at the Palazzo Mediceo – Ottaviano, followed on Sunday 30th by Maria De Vito, Enrico Rava, Roberto Taufic at The Crater of Vesuvius.

As part of the XXVII Festival delle Ville Vesuviane 2015, Francesco Renga is in concert at the Parco sul Mare della Villa Favorita at Herculaneum on Monday 31st.

Throughout the summer, until 20th September, at the Teatro Grande of Pompeii, there is the Pompeii Festival.  Tonight, Thursday 27th, is ‘The Four Seasons‘, at the Quadriportico dei Teatri.

The Ravello Festival is in full swing and runs until 5th September, with so many fantastic events lined up.  As part of the festival, the Nuova Orchestra Scarlatti will be performing ‘O’ mare’, a Symphonic suite on themes of Pino Daniele, on Saturday 29th August at the Belvedere di Villa Rufolo.

E…state con noi 2015‘, the schedule of events over the summer in Capri, is now in full swing and ends on 12th September.  There are many events lined up, from music to theatre and even a Folklore Festival!


Every weekend there is the Campagna Amica Coldiretti Market at various locations in Naples and the surrounding area.

Every Sunday in the pedestrian area of Via Diaz, there is the Mercato del Contadino – a wonderful market of all the best local produce.

Every Sunday at the Hippodrome Park of Agnano, there is an antique, craft and flea market.

Every Sunday at the Fiera di Nocera Inferiore, there is the Salone Dell’Usato, a large, covered market, selling crafts, antiques, collectibles and modern antiques/art.


As the end of the summer is sadly coming upon us all too quickly, there are lots of fantastic events ending this weekend, so don’t miss your chance to enjoy something different and fun:

The ‘Presente Infinito‘ exhibition at Castel dell’Ovo finishes today, Thursday 27th.

Estate a Napoli‘ comes to an end on Friday 28th August.  This year it’s entitled ‘FemmeNa‘ and is an homage to femminine art and creativity, which are identifying traces of Neapolitan culture.  The events included are theatre, theatre dance, instrumental music, singing and writing.

Every Saturday until 29th August at the Ippodromo di Agnano there is ‘Summer at the Racecourse Park 2015‘, the unique spectacle of nighttime horse and cart and horseback racing, shows and events.

The first ever edition of the ‘International Festival of Journalism‘, at PANcomes to an end on Friday 29th August.

Sunday 30th August sees the last day of the Classico contemporaneotheatre festival at San Domenico Maggiore.

The Daniel Buren exhibition ‘Come un gioco da bambini, lavoro in situ, 2014-15‘ finishes on Monday 31st August, at MADRE.

Historias latinas.  Sorsi di vita a Cuba, Argentina e Bolivia‘, the exhibition of visual arts at PAN, also ends on Monday 31st.

Cinema intorno al Vesuvio‘ – open air cinema at San Sebastiano al Vesuvio, which has been running through June, July and August, comes to a close on Monday 31st August.

The first ever ‘Napoli Expò Art POLIS’ also ends on Monday 31st August, the end of 2 months of exhibitions, performances and themed evenings.

Don’t forget, every Sunday at 10.30 there is a mass in English at the Christ Church in Naples.
