Napoli Bike Festival
Part of Naples celebration of the
European Week of Sustainable Mobility,
for three days, the city will be peacefully
invaded by tons of bicycles for the first city
festival dedicated entirely to those who love
cycling. The event will be coordinated by
Napoli Pedala,who for years, have been
promoting the use of bicycles in the city as
a system of alternative mobility.
The welcome party is scheduled for Friday,
September 21 at sunset in Villa Comunale.
A photo exhibition, art installations, and
music and videos selection inspired by
cycling, as well as readings and a menu of
delicious dishes for cyclists DOC.
At the end of the evening, a ride under the stars.
On Saturday September 22nd, the Bike Festival Village will be inaugurated in Villa Comunale.
Throughout the day, there will be workshops and demonstrations on a diverse range of subjects including the art of bike maintenance, courses on bike disassembly, bike jump demonstrations, as well as activities for children, including courses for learning to ride.
The full program will open Saturday at 9:00 with the “Urban Alleycat” Competition for non-professional cycle couriers. Participants will perform in the shortest possible time and route choice, 10 fictitious deliveries on the basis of a list of addresses assigned.
Around the same time, a difficult and challenging itinerary for lovers of off-road will depart for Mount Vesuvius.
At 11:00 with”Bikaccia,” a treasure hunt in teams strictly by bike, cycling seven legs to reach the most beautiful places of our city in search of treasure.
At 18.00, a roundtable on “Napoli by Bike: You Can,” a discussion of the many experiences of alternative mobility starting in the city.
The day closes with the screening of the animated film “Appuntamento Belleville,” the story of the young champion, and his dream to participate in the Tour de France, at 21.00 at the Casina Pompeiana.
Sunday September 22nd is a full day of riding staring from Villa Comunale (Cassa Armonica) with routes of all difficulties.
