British Community Naples

British Community Naples Italy

Expats, Italians & travelers!
Something for everyone!

The idea is to create an English speaking environment for mother tongues to meet, relax and share company but also for Italian students to experience an ‘authentic English speaking environment’, giving them the confidence that only a social meeting can create, to speak English.

Now in its third year, the British Community Naples has grown from a small gathering of friends twice a month, to a weekly cultural event where the average is forty / fifty people who come together to chat, play darts, share stories and enjoy a refreshing beer.

Having recently changed venue, you can now join the Community at the Morrigan Pub, located in Via Morghen 72/A in Vomero. Once a month, a pub quiz is hosted in English with prizes including cash! Usually teams of five join and each person pays €1 to play. The money is put into a kitty and divided between the winners and runners up.

For those of you who are film fanatics or would like more opportunity to practice English, the Community also hosts a film night, twice a month on a Monday evening. Films we have seen so far include The Boat That Rocked, The Hangover, Catch Me If You Can and Love Actually.

For those who have purchased a British Community Membership, entry is free and popcorn is included! Otherwise, €3 is the entrance fee to watch the film.

Our regular Thursday meetings begin at 20.30 (free entry) and usually finish at midnight. Membership card holders also receive a 10% discount on food and drink in the pub and may also borrow English books from our library.

Everyone is welcome and we always enjoy meeting new people, making new friends and passing a wonderful evening together. For more information about us, past or future events, please visit our British Community Naples website and join our British Community Facebook Group.

Passionate about my adopted home, for me Naples is the perfect canvas. From its breathtaking vistas to its rich cultural heritage, I could live here a lifetime and never see it all, photograph it all, or write about it all.

I live in Edinburgh and want to come in august for a whole year in naples and put my children aged 6 and 9 into a good Italian school.

I also would like to know of a good apartment letting agency who would find us somewhere nice and central, busy yet safe, to stay.

any advice would be much appreciated. I am separated from my children’s father so will be travelling alone.

At the moment I am taking Italian classes!!

      Hi Juliet,
That’s great that you want to come and live in our wonderful city!
Most people find the information about schools and letting agencies through groups on Facebook – Living Abroad in Naples Italy; Living Abroad in Naples Italy 2; CoachSurfing Napoli Campania; Christ Church Naples; American International Women’s Club of Naples; One tongue, different flags; British Community Naples NEW Group!…..
Good luck with everything, and the Italian classes. Look at our site, and if you have other questions, let us know. 🙂
