When I first got here, the Campania ArteCard was somewhat of mystery to me. I had heard there were discount passes to the museums, archaeological sites, and castles in Naples and Campania, but I had no idea what they were called much less where to buy them. Quite by accident I stumbled onto the Campania ArteCard website, which was only available in Italian at the time. After some frustration I figured out there was an annual museum pass called the Campania ArteCard 365 and I was eventually able to decipher what it included and where to buy it. I haven’t looked back since and I faithfully renew my ArteCard every year.
Today thankfully, things are much easier. The Campania ArteCard’s new and improved website is now available in both Italian and English and the information is very well presented. There are links to all of the museums and sites on the ArteCard circuit with a brief overview of the site and all of the practical information you need to plan your visit. There is even a great Network Map that shows the major sites in the city and their transportation links. A mystery no more, there’s no reason to pay full price when you can easily purchase the Campania ArteCard 365.
Priced at just €40,00 it includes two visits to every site on the ArteCard circuit as well as discounts at many other sites. That’s nearly 20 museums throughout the region such as the Archaeological Museum, Capodimonte, and the Royal Palaces in Naples and Caserta as well as all of the major archaeological sites like Pompeii, Herculaneum and Paestum. The ArteCard can be purchased any time during the year at any site on the circuit or from the Infopoint at the Central Railway Station. It is activated on entry to the first site and valid for one year from that date. For more information check out the Campania ArteCard website.
